~ PHYSICAL TYPE ~
As the Cane Corso was originally developed to chase deer through the forest and possess the ability to physically catch it, and as I simply can't picture short stumpy-legged barrel-bodied rottie-built type Cane Corsos being able to keep up with the more lithe and leggier athletically built type, I've deliberately established the Colosseum Shadows lines on the most athletic physical type I could find. And it's my desire & intent to protect and propagate ONLY this type as I feel it is closer to what the breed was at its roots when it was developed centuries ago. COLOSSEUM SHADOWS Cane Corso produces only the athletic variety-- there are no low-slung, barrel-bodied, stumpy-legged Corsos produced here. Do you know the difference in appearance between a human power-lifter and a body-builder? Power-lifters are strong but bulky with little to no real muscle definition- often fat-looking... Body-builders on the other hand, like Arnold Schwarzenegger, are strong with very obvious muscularity- MUCH muscle definition! COLOSSEUM SHADOWS Cane Corso produces ONLY the statuesque "body-builder" type Cane Corso. It's one of the COLOSSEUM SHADOWS hallmarks. If you want the short, squat, barrel-bodied, stumpy-legged variety, you'll have to go somewhere else -there are some breeders who proudly produce that type. I proudly don't.
